Time to de-stress
The holiday season can be chaotic!
The holiday season can be stressful, there isn’t much time dedicated to de-stress. At the core of the holiday season, I believe that it’s supposed to be a time about connection. Connecting to family and friends, about making time for ourselves to reflect upon what is meaningful and important to us. And yet, instead, most often we’re just stressed out of our minds: anxious about Christmas, about seeing family, about giving “enough” presents, about cooking the “right” food, about looking “our best selves” and about getting all the bloody work done at work so that we can actually take a week off…
This holiday season I invite you to de-stress.
”Your task is not to seek for Love, but to find the barriers within yourself you have built against it.
Rumi
A simple tip to calm down
Which is why I needed to use this simple tip many times in the last weeks! Because it’s easy to get lost in the stress and the chaos… But there isn’t a lot of joy living in that space. Instead, I want you to find ease and live your life in an abundant place.
Om Shanti
So if you’re feeling a bit turbulent at the moment, try this gentle mantra. Shanti comes from the Sanskrit word Sham meaning calm or soothing. When chanting Om Shanti, focus on inner peace. Let that peace fill you up and then pour out of you, into the world.
Want to try? Close your eyes, take a deep breath and when you’re ready, begin:
Om Shanti, Om Shanti, Om Shanti
Let every repetition fill you up a little more. Repeat this mantra as often as you need until you feel more peaceful 🙂 You can even chant along with me to my version of Om Shanti on Spotify here:
